Requirements and Conditions for Becoming a Surveyor
Qualifications of a Surveyor
To effectively select potential candidates for development as surveyors, the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization) has established the following qualifications:
1. Education and Experience
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in health sciences or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience in quality management, managing key operational systems, or managing a department or organization; or
- Have more than 10 years of experience working in a hospital; or
- Be a senior executive with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
2. Personal Attributes
- Possess a good personality, interpersonal skills, adaptability, and the ability to address issues appropriately according to the situation.
- Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with others.
- Demonstrate commitment and a positive attitude toward quality improvement processes.
3. Knowledge and Skills
Have knowledge and experience in quality improvement.
Be up to date with the healthcare system, relevant laws, and professional standards.
4. Professional Conduct
Be responsible for assigned duties, performing them with honesty, integrity, and transparency in accordance with the principles and standards set by the Institute.
Commitment
Be passionate about being a surveyor, have sufficient time to carry out surveyor duties, and take full responsibility for assigned tasks.
Roles and Responsibilities of a Surveyor
To ensure that the survey process is carried out effectively and in line with the Institute’s philosophy, the following roles and responsibilities are established:
Conduct surveys, assess the level of development of assigned healthcare organizations, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Promote learning during the survey process to enhance understanding and optimize the use of standards.
Prepare survey reports for submission to the Advisory Subcommittee on Healthcare Quality Accreditation for consideration and advice to the Director for accreditation decisions.
Participate in training courses organized by the Institute to enhance knowledge and skills in quality improvement and healthcare accreditation.
Provide feedback and cooperate with the Institute in the development of standards and survey methods.
