Healthcare Network System Standard

The Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization) has developed standards for the assessment, development, and accreditation of healthcare facilities operating within a network system. These include the Healthcare Network System Standards and the District Health System Standards, in accordance with the Regulations of the Board of the Healthcare Accreditation Institute on Criteria and Methods for the Assessment, Development, and Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities B.E. 2565 (2022). These regulations stipulate that healthcare facilities shall be assessed, developed, and accredited based on the standards prescribed by the Board, in alignment with national strategies for the development of Thailand’s healthcare system.

This initiative also responds to the evolving nature of the healthcare service system and the varying needs of healthcare facilities, recognizing the importance and benefits of developing healthcare service networks for service recipients. It supports the mission of the Ministry of Public Health, which aims to provide proactive healthcare services at the local level, operating through the health region management model and implementing the Service Plan to improve the health service system.

Accordingly, the Institute has revised the Provincial Healthcare Network Development Standards into a more comprehensive Healthcare Network System Standard to accommodate diverse network models—such as provincial service networks, disease-specific service networks, networks of healthcare facilities under various affiliations, and private healthcare facility networks. This standard is intended to guide the integration and alignment of systems and services across the network.
