Healthcare facilities intending to undergo assessment for quality development and accreditation are expected to have implemented quality concepts and processes to establish mechanisms that ensure quality at both departmental and organizational levels. These facilities should have engaged in organization-wide quality improvement initiatives, demonstrating performance in accordance with the standards established by the governing committee. Continuous integration of learning and reflection is expected, including completion of self-assessment tools as prescribed by the Institute.
