HAI Thailand Reinforces Global Standards, Showcasing Transparency and Good Governance in 3rd ISQua EEA Organizational Re-accreditation
NONTHABURI, August 25, 2025 The Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization), or HAI Thailand, today welcomed a team of international surveyors from the International Society for Quality in Health Care External Evaluation Association (ISQua EEA) for its third organizational re-accreditation survey. The survey, held from August 25-28, 2025, reaffirms HAI Thailand's status as one of only 18 organizations worldwide to be accredited across all three of ISQua EEA's programs: Organization, Standards, and Surveyor Training. This achievement underscores its unwavering commitment to transparency, good governance, and international best practices.
The survey team was warmly welcomed by Piyawan Limpanyalert, MD, Director of HAI Thailand, along with the institute's board members, executive team, and staff. The distinguished panel of ISQua EEA surveyors includes Mr. Gary Smith (Team Leader) from Australia, Dr. Syed Sajid Ahmed from Qatar, and Dr. Susan Yates from Canada. The survey is being conducted at the National Health Building, Ministry of Public Health.
The initial day of the survey focused on critical standards, including Governance, Surveyor Management, and Client Management. The Governance session was notably attended by Professor Prasit Watanapa, MD, PhD, Chairman of the HAI Thailand Board, alongside distinguished board members: Peerapol Suttiwisesak, MD; Kongkiat Kespetch, MD; and Jadet Thammathat-aree, MD, Secretary-General of the National Health Security Office (NHSO). Their participation in the interview highlighted the organization’s top-level commitment to driving its mission through robust governance and a culture of accountability.
The ISQua EEA surveyors expressed their admiration for HAI Thailand's significant progress and dedication, particularly praising its sustained commitment to maintaining and continuously improving organizational quality in line with international standards; the creation of strong collaborative networks that support healthcare facilities throughout their accreditation journey; a systematic and high-quality surveyor development program and the strategic integration of technology to enhance the efficiency of the accreditation process, especially at the primary care level. Dr. Piyawan Limpanyalert, Director of HAI Thailand, stated: "The ISQua EEA servey as tangible proof that HAI Thailand operates at a global standard and is recognized both domestically and internationally. This accreditation not only fills our organization with pride but also strengthens the confidence of healthcare facilities across Thailand that we have accredited. The re-accreditation from ISQua EEA will not only validate HAI Thailand's operational excellence but also reinforce the credibility and quality of Thailand's entire public health system on the global stage.
