The Healthcare Accreditation Institute (HAI) has renewed its collaboration with ECRI Asia Pacific through a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on 17 September 2025 during 7th World Patient Safety Day and the 9th Thailand Patient and Personnel Safety Day at the Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok. The partnership, first established in 2022, reinforces a shared commitment to Thailand’s 2P Safety policy covering Patient and Personnel Safety and extends the cooperation for another three years.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Piyawan Limpanyalert, HAI Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Woo Kit Seong of ECRI under the MOU, both organizations will jointly publish Thailand’s Top 10 Patient and Personnel Safety Concerns, analyze incident reports from the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS), and co-host seminars and roadshows to share knowledge and promote quality improvement initiatives.

Dr. Piyawan emphasized that collaboration with ECRI brings global expertise and advanced technology to support continuous quality and safety improvements in healthcare. Looking forward, the partnership will also support Thailand’s transition from 2P Safety to 3P Safety expanding the focus to include People while positioning Thailand as a regional hub for patient safety innovation.
